The programmability of the mouse overall is nice, and I adore being able to quickly switch the free-spinning wheel on or off. I don't use the thumb scroll as much as I thought I might (too much muscle memory from Shift-Scrolling instead, i guess), but it could be handy. The flat thumb-"button" is kind of awkward for regular use, so I mapped the "Change Pointer Speed" to it since I don't use that feature often. The customization options are nice-having different mappings for different programs is theoretically very useful, though I don't take advantage of it. not because I love it, but because I despise it the least of everything I've tried so far. In conclusion, I've come to realize that I loathe the computer mouse as an input device. Really strange however that Studio One is the only daw that doesn't work with Logitechs driver. Plus, the ergonomics were such that it would essentially require a redesign of my whole desk from scratch to really reap the supposed benefits anyway. I uninstalled the Logitech Options driver and installed SteerMouse v5 instead which lets me configure the buttons and scroll speed and so on without Options. I tried the tablet approach instead, but never could get a good workflow using multiple monitors. Again, could just be my aversion to the "palm grip" at play. I didn't find that discomfort any better or worse, just differently-localized. Well, the trackball sort of helped by shifting the pain away from my wrist and toward my thumb instead. I used their M570 trackball for a couple years because mice were giving me wrist/forearm pain. I'm more of a claw/fingertip guy, and the vertical mouse seemed to favor a palm grip which just feels wrong to me. Tried the vertical mouse thing for a year, and that just led to a different kind of pain, applying all the pressure to the side of my wrist instead of to the flat part beneath the palm. I've been using the Logitech MX Master 3 for years (from before the 3S came out).
